Synopsis:
Do you ever find yourself trying to convince others that you are who you say you are, and that you know what is right for your own life? Being transgender can feel that way, and it can be really hard to cope with. Especially when you are met with adversity and opposition at every milestone in life. Constantly having someone challenge who you are, and attempting to undermine your autonomy, that's being negated. But overcoming the opposition can be a great first step towards healing. Being Negated: An Anthology of Transgender Survival Stories is a collection of experiences from some of the different transgender neighbors within our community. This book is important to me because each of these characters carries a piece of my story as they tell their own. Stories of surviving against the odds, and resilience through dire circumstances; violence, abuse, misogyny, hostility, injuries, and illness. Stories of transgender and transsexual people overcoming the odds that were stacked so high against them.
